I promised I would post a picture of the larger Sue Forey felted Welsh landscape that I had shipped home from Wales last week. It arrived today and it is already hanging in its new spot! I love the colors and textures here…..and it is a lovely reminder of a beautiful place!

What self respecting Doctor Who dork can visit Cardiff and miss the Doctor Who Experience? Not this one, surely. I knew I was getting close.
I shudder a bit to think how long ago I started watching….when this guy was on our favorite Time Lord! Maybe we can just ignore those years when the Doctor was MIA, okay?
Lots of fun exhibits, especially from the most current round of Doctors. Villains in every corner…Remind me again why we are supposed to be afraid of huge pepperpots?
But I gotta say those weeping Angels are pretty creepy…..
And while I won’t get the chance to be Sarah Jane Smith or Amy Pond anytime soon, I did get a peek at the inside of the Tardis….squeeee!!
This confirms it…..I am a dork!

We had so many great adventures on our trip to Wales, but certainly one of the highlights was a visit to see fellow Etsy artist Sue Forey in her beautiful shop in Aberystwyth in west Wales. Here I am atop a hillside overlooking the lovely seafront!
Sue was kind enough to invite us out to her lovely home and workshop where she creates the most exquisite felted landscapes I have ever seen. Here’s just a peek at a few on her workshop wall…
She even gave our little group of four a lesson in how to felt! I have an even greater appreciation for her beautiful work since I now realize just how much talent it takes. Needless to say, none of us will be competing with her in any way, shape, or form but here is my first effort. I think I had better stick to fused glass. ☺
And finally, it was time to shop! This is one of the pieces that I picked up for a friend who couldn’t join us on our “field trip.”
And since I couldn’t pick just one for me, I got two! One I had to ship home since it was too big for my carry on bag, so I will take a photo of it in its new home once it arrives, but here is the one I carried back!
I just love the way her work captures all the beauty we saw first hand in Wales…rolling hills, stone walls, quaint cottages, stormy skies and fields of sheep! If you haven’t checked out her Etsy shop, you really need to stop by. And you can also find her on Facebook and her blog!
